Drug-Free Life, Empowers The Youth!" DPP ARTIPENA, Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency, and the Ministry of Higher Education Rally UNDIRA Students to Stand Against Drugs
Jakarta, July 16, 2026 – The future belongs to all of us, and every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue it with confidence and ambition. Yet behind the optimism of today's generation lies a growing threat: drug abuse, which continues to target young people through misleading promises and dangerous narratives. In recent years, this issue has become an increasing concern, particularly within academic communities where the nation's future leaders are shaped.
In the spirit of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, commemorated on June 26, 2026, the Central Executive Board of the Higher Education Volunteers Alliance Against Narcotics Abuse (DPP ARTIPENA), in collaboration with the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, partnered with Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) and universities across Indonesia to organize a socialization program for the Sapta Cita Anti-Drug Declaration toward creating "BERSINAR" (Drug-Free Campuses). The initiative aimed to strengthen a nationwide movement encouraging students to take an active role in combating drug abuse.

Held at the Smart Classroom of UNDIRA's Tanjung Duren Campus in West Jakarta, the event was attended enthusiastically by thousands of student representatives and members of the academic community from universities throughout Indonesia.
According to DPP ARTIPENA, the program represents a strategic effort to strengthen young people's resilience against the growing threat of drug abuse. Indonesia is currently facing what has been described as a "drug emergency," with survey data indicating that approximately 3.2 percent of Indonesian university students have been affected by narcotics and illegal drug abuse. More than just a statistic, this figure serves as a wake-up call for young people to build a stronger collective defense against drugs.
Chairman of DPP ARTIPENA, Prof. Dr. Sutarto Hadi, M.Sc., emphasized that creating a drug-free ecosystem is not a challenge that can be addressed by a single institution alone. Instead, it requires collective collaboration so that education, prevention, and awareness initiatives can reach every level of society.
Echoing the same commitment, the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN RI), Commissioner General of Police Suyudi Ario Seto, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., together with the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., reaffirmed the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking (P4GN) as a concrete manifestation of the Sapta Cita Anti-Drug Movement.
The event concluded with a solemn reading of the Sapta Cita Anti-Drug Declaration, led by Irfiyah Difa, a student of Universitas Dian Nusantara. The declaration symbolized the unwavering commitment of Indonesia's younger generation to stand united against drug abuse while fostering academic environments that are safe, healthy, and free from narcotics.

Through this declaration and nationwide awareness campaign, DPP ARTIPENA calls upon university students across Indonesia not to remain mere observers, but to become active guardians in protecting the nation's future from the dangers of drug abuse.
