Jakarta, July 3, 2026 — Libraries have long been known as oases providing access to credible information. Beginning with the storage of archives and clay tablets in the Mesopotamian era, libraries have now adopted a range of innovations to give more people the opportunity to expand their knowledge and combat misinformation.

This is precisely what motivated the Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) Library to compete in the 2026 DKI Jakarta Provincial University Library Innovation Competition, held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the DKI Jakarta Library in Cikini, West Jakarta, under the auspices of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Library and Archives Service through the PUPTK Subgroup.

According to the official social media account of DKI Jakarta Library Development, the competition reflects a commitment to building literacy, fostering creativity, and developing university libraries as symbols of a Global Knowledge City amid the disruption of information.

In addition to the UNDIRA Library, eight other university library representatives took part, including those from YARSI University Jakarta, Trisakti University, the University of Indonesia, Mercu Buana University, the Indonesian Christian University, STMI Polytechnic Jakarta, Jakarta State University, and the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Health Polytechnic.

The UNDIRA Library had the opportunity to showcase its innovation titled “Library Service Transformation through an AppSheet-Based Application for E-Book Access Integrated with Google Workspace.” According to the UNDIRA Library team, the transformation is expected to make it easier for users to find open-access e-book resources that meet their academic and learning needs.

The Head of the UNDIRA Library, Mr. Rengga Sendrian, M.Hum., emphasized that the system developed by the UNDIRA Library offers several advantages. First, it is low-code, setting this innovation apart from others that still rely on heavier management systems. Second, it utilizes Google Workspace, which simplifies backend data management implementation. Third, it is replicable, meaning it can be applied and adopted by other libraries.

Thanks to its innovation and commitment to advancing the downstreaming of information and literacy, the Universitas Dian Nusantara Library successfully secured a place as one of the ten best libraries across DKI Jakarta Province.

The literacy-strengthening initiatives delivered by the UNDIRA Library in various formats reflect the active role libraries play today in building an adaptive, innovative, and competitive academic foundation. This achievement also demonstrates that libraries can serve as spaces for collaboration and idea development, capable of supporting the downstreaming of sustainable and impactful knowledge.

Universitas Dian Nusantara extends its deepest appreciation to the entire team involved and to everyone who supported the university in this innovation competition.
